Cold hard reality

Via-Jer's Notes

Thanks primarily to Glen Beck most grass root conservatives as opposed to establishment Republicans are aware of the Cloward and Piven strategy to bring down America and replace it with a government based on a more socialist model. In a nutshell the idea was to overload the nations public assistance programs to the point that America's economic system would collapse trying to support them.

Most people who are aware of the strategy and are also aware of the ruthless "no holes barred" tactics of the leftist that now run the Democratic Party are very much aware of the fact that this strategy is being unleashed on America by its leaders. Just one example of this is the Obama Administration's decision to redefine "poverty" which allowed for millions of additional Americans to be eligible for government benefits. This is in line with the very essence of the Cloward and Piven strategy, flood the government roles with so many people that the system crashes.

As I said most grass root conservatives understand this and recognize its implementation going on all around us, while the establishment GOP thinks it is confronting the old fashioned tax and spend liberal of a generation long past. In other words the GOP thinks it is fighting against  fellow Americans who believe in a failed economic model,  while in fact they are pitted against a foe that for all practical purposes is an un-American ideological movement bent on virtually destroying our Constitutional republic.

The mistake that we made was believing that this dramatic increase in "poverty" would turn people against Obama. You will recall that the Romney/Ryan campaign repeatedly stressed this increase in the poverty levels, without explaining the gimmickry responsible for it, as an example of how badly Obama had managed the economy.

The problem with this is that  millions of people are now receiving the benefits of being in poverty without actually being in poverty. If those people were not receiving these government benefits, food stamps, medicaid, long term unemployment benefits etc. then they very likely would have seen Obama as a failure. However the very fact that their lives were not drastically affected due to the implementation of the Cloward and Piven strategy at the very least made them apathetic about the election.

Remember though, the plan is to bring down the system in order to institute the planners Utopian vision. Everyone recognizes that this can not continue, it is unsustainable, which is exactly what the left wants. So how do you fight this? How do you make the people who are getting something for nothing change their outlook? Is there a way?

Actually there is and it is facing the conservatives right in the face and it can happen right now if Republicans are willing to take a risk, but really what does America have to loose at this point? Very simply it is this, make them pay. Let the Bush tax cuts expire, call Obama and the Democrats bluff.

If  the Bush tax cuts expire across the board a lot more people will be payng for what they are now getting for free. Of course everyone else will be paying more too, which is a win win for conservatives in the long run. Consider the map below;

The reverse is also true, if the tax cuts expire that is how much more households will be paying. Obama and his partners in the media will blame an increase on the Republicans, so what. The GOP can just remind everyone that they are and always have been the party of lower taxes and if given the opportunity they will  lower the taxes that Obama was not leader enough to protect them from. Besides if will remind Americans just how much they hate taxes which can only work to the Republicans advantage.

Yes it will also throw the economy into a severe recession, good. Maybe Americans will recognize that higher taxes cause economic stagnation. Yes it will cause severe hardships for millions of American families, again good. The American people and their apathy towards their political process has led us to this point so it is time that we pay for our mistakes and perhaps learn a lesson that will stick for a generation or two.

In economic downturns, especially if there is no "safety net" which there won't be in this recession like there was in the last one, people have to be creative to survive. Underground economies form, entrepreneurship  flourishes, and people become more self reliant all of which gives birth to a more conservative populace,  the seventies gave birth to the eighties. I remember I was there, most Obama voters were not, something to remember.

The left's strategy  to collapse the system only works if those meant to overburden it are not paying for it. The more people paying for it the more "conservative" they will be about  how it is being abused. As our President would say. "everyone needs to have some skin in the game."  So let them pay taxes, the Bush tax cuts took six million families off the tax rolls and significantly reduced rates for millions more well below the so called one percenters, these voters would now have to pay or pay more and suddenly Big Government isn't quite the free ride it was. Their political benefactors cease to be Santa and instead become the bill collector at the door.

Perhaps conservatives ought to stop protecting Americans from their decisions and take a page from the left's playbook by inflaming the "masses" by simply giving the progressives what they want.

After all sometimes reason is not a very good teacher, cold hard reality always is

  1. God forbid we have come to this but it does seem as though the populace needs to face down meet the gutter.
I cant directly put it another way.
I am sure that I cant very easily survive such an outcome.
But I can not survive it now.....
Or I can not survive it later when I am aged and totally dependent on a collapsed society.

What the hell. Dont give up principal just to get a delayed very bad result.

Stand your ground and swallow the bitter pill while the populace can still survive the poison???

I surly dont know the answer. But compromising core principals that have history behind them is not the answer.

    1. Good to see you Spathy

On the contrary, the GOP need only stand on principle, don't agree to any tax increases period. If Bush tax cuts expire it will be because Obama wanted to raise taxes on the"rich" so bad that he would allow them to go up for everyone.

The GOP just has to stand on principle and either the Democrats will fold or taxes will go up for everyone. Simple as that

  2. Hi Jer; Great post, as always, and I hope you're right that a wake-up call is in the offing.... but I wish I could be confident about it. I was astounded that Obama was re-elected; that so many people thought that he was a good president when it seemed so blatantly obvious that he is incredibly detrimental to our Country. I can only surmise that many people are ignorant of what a 'good' president is and what is actually good for our Country- never mind the ideals our Country was founded on. People not only need a wake-up call, they need an education. Sadly, I'm not sure that we can get a life-time's worth of liberal propaganda out of their heads so that they can accept anything new. Also, it's possible that they actually want a socialist or communist government, despite its long history of failure. All this really makes you wonder what the future will hold for us. I'm really concerned. Regardless, I believe that we are now in for some really hard financial times- worse than we've already seen.

    Thanks for a good read!

  3. Darn it my fat fingers deleted another good post.
    Start over...
Thats my point Jer. The Democrats have told us for over a decade how bad the Bush Tax cuts were. And Clinton taxes were just fine.

Dont compromise on principal. Vote your convictions.
Let them win the vote if thats what happens.
But let the people know what you expect as a result. ASnd clearly explain why you voted for the better path.

Tell the people that you reelected a Republican house. And as such We stood on principal. We didnt block governance. But we put forth our preferred ideals/plan. We lost the vote and here is what you can expect as a result.

  5. I lost the more involved post by trying to fix type errors. the second attempt almost resulted in the same loss.
I am sure its simple ignorance on my part.
But when I noticed it happening again I wasnt stupid enough to let it happen again. Ignorance and stupidity. A distinction with a difference.

  7. Spathy, your posts are good - fat fingers and all!

Seachange, good to see you! I always appreciate your clear views on the topic at hand.

I'm at the point where I agree with you , Jer. It sounds harsh, but allowing Obama to move forward with his destruction of America is worse. It's better that we all suffer now than that we lose the whole country. People need to suffer some to see the consequences of what is being foisted on us.

    2. This is eerie! When I sat down at the computer tonight, it was with the intent of sending you a WU mail to encourage you to join us here! Yes, I recognize you.

I see that a lot of people are reading this blog. I often see several others are online when I am. I think we all (especially me) need to speak out - not just here (where we are preaching to the choir), but in other ways that can reach those who don't know or understand what is going on.
