Barack a Story, In the Beginning 1

There are always two sides to every story...at least


A Convenient Distraction

Barack Hussein Obama was born on August 4, 1961, at Kapiʻolani Maternity & Gynecological Hospital in Honolulu Hawaii. I personally believe this to be true, though I can see why many people would not be convinced of what should be the simplest of all verifiable biographical facts.

The reasons for doubt are many, mostly unfounded but some truly do deserve investigation. I suggest that anyone that has disdain for "birthers" simply read this or this. Perhaps you will see that there are some valid questions that can be raised and people have every right to do so. The problem though is that in the end all it does is provides Obama what he needs, a convenient distraction.

There are many explanations for why the whole "birther" phenomena occurred, from racism to constitutional integrity and everything in between depending on your ideological leaning. The fact is that the whole controversy could have easily been done away with a simple act of transparency on the part of the man who wanted to be the leader of the nation, Barack Obama.

Much has been made about whether Hawaii would, should or could release Obama's Birth certificate in the years before he eventually released the original certificate on the White House web site in order to shut up Donald Trump.  The truth is he obviously had it all along, otherwise what is on the White House web site now? By his own admission Obama had his birth certificate, or at least his family did. From page 26 of Dreams From My Father

“I discovered this article, folded away among my birth certificate and old vaccination forms, when I was in high school.”

He also obtained passports during the ensuing years which would have required him to provide a birth certificate. Whatever the status of the birth certificate the fact is that the President of the United States has spent years cynically egging on critics in order to embarrass them when he was fully capable of  ending the controversy but he chose not to in an obvious attempt to humiliate his critics. How mature, what character, what leadership.

Perhaps there are problems with Obama's birth certificate which are not quite so ominous as parentage or place of birth but rather revelations that simply puncture the well crafted narrative of the Obama mystic. The "birther" meme has mooted any public discussion on inconsistencies and out and out fabrications having to do with Obama's past.

The distraction of the birther movement is a wonderful tool for Obama, it shields his past by allowing anything, even legitimate questions to be dismissed as the wild speculations of  critics foisting conspiracy theories on the public out of maliciousness. This allows any investigation of  the real Obama to remain hidden or discredited within the fog of  partisan political bickering.

A Narrative

I have said for some time that Obama is just a narrative, a story, but people are not stories they have real experiences which help determine who they are.  More importantly the choices that a person makes tells us a great deal about his character and his thinking. We are the sum total of the choices that we makes, plain and simple. There is an old saying that I judge myself by my intentions but others judge me by my actions and in the end what we do is what we are,

Obama had no choice in who his parents were or what they did. No choice of where he was born or where he lived or even how he was brought up. Even if he was brought up Muslim as a child, that really had nothing to do with him anymore than Marco Rubio's families brief involvement with Mormonism tells us much about  him or the nature of who he is.  However the choices Obama made, as an adult, on how to portray his parents, his upbringing and other biographical facts is important.

Most people have things in their history that they might find embarrassing even if they had no control over them, or we might wish that our upbringing were different but we can not simply create a new biography. It is one thing to just not mention certain facts that one might find embarrassing, it is quite another thing to create a whole new fictional biography for yourself for self promotion and to achieve your ambitions. It would seem truthfulness on basic biographical facts would not be too much to ask of high government officials or for that matter too much to ask of our media to investigate and report.

The recent revelation that Obama's literary agency for years refereed to him as Kenyan born in his biographical summary which are always reviewed by the client for accuracy and were updated several times over many years without him correcting this "inaccuracy" only highlights  Obama's flexibility when it comes to his personal biography.

 Why then shouldn't people be skeptical of  his heritage and biographical narrative? After all he is only the "most powerful man in the world" why shouldn't people know the truth of his life story? Why should absolute lies and total fabrications be the biography of our President? And what kind of nation have we become where we elect to our highest office men who can not even tell the truth about their own life story . Not just spinning or obfuscating  events for political advantage but actually creating a fictional history far removed from reality.

Immaculate Conception

During the 2008 campaign Obama visited Selma Alabama to help commemorate the famous civil rights march. Among the many silly pandering comments he made that day were the following:

What happened in Selma, Alabama and Birmingham also stirred the conscience of the nation. It worried folks in the White House who said, “You know, we're battling Communism. How are we going to win hearts and minds all across the world? If right here in our own country, John, we're not observing the ideals set fort in our Constitution, we might be accused of being hypocrites.” So the Kennedy’s decided we're going to do an air lift. We're going to go to Africa and start bringing young Africans over to this country and give them scholarships to study so they can learn what a wonderful country America is.

This young man named Barack Obama got one of those tickets and came over to this country. He met this woman whose great great-great-great-grandfather had owned slaves; but she had a good idea there was some craziness going on because they looked at each other and they decided that we know that the world as it has been it might not be possible for us to get together and have a child. There was something stirring across the country because of what happened in Selma, Alabama, because some folks are willing to march across a bridge. So they got together and Barack Obama Jr. was born. So don't tell me I don't have a claim on Selma, Alabama. Don't tell me I’m not coming home to Selma, Alabama.

Obama among his many accomplishments can lay claim to being the most premature baby in recorded history obviously having been born prior to conception. Of course the problem with this is that the march on Selma occurred on March 7 1965, Barack Obama was already a three and a half year old toddler in Hawaii. Barack Obama Sr had already been kicked out of the United States and was back in Kenya and Stanley Ann Durham had filed for divorce from Barack Sr. a year and three months prior to the march on Selma and was remarried to Lolo Soetoro.

Not only was the heroic romantic union of Obama's parents a total figment of Obama's fertile imagination but the Kennedy's are given credit for an event and a program that occurred in the Eisenhower Administration when Barack Sr.came to Hawaii in 1959 a full six years prior to the March on Selma and two years prior to Obama's birth.

Consider what kind of  sociopath a man must be to so casually lie to an audience of supporters with the full knowledge that his words can and will be so easily proved to be totally fabricated. Consider what kind of media we have that let is so casually pass by. And most of all consider what kind of nation we have become that we would elect a man to our highest office for whom deception and lies are just a game and we are his pawns.

This is just the beginning of Barack the Story, for that is all that our President is-a story. He is not a leader, he is not even a politician, a politician is concerned with what his constituents think of him. Barack Obama is not the least bit concerned with what anyone thinks of him, when your world is yourself  nobody else really matters not even an entire nation,
