Don Surber makes a very interesting point:
284 Electoral College votes oppose Obamacare
More than half the states — 26 to be exact — now official oppose Obamacare and are plaintiffs in the Florida case that seek to have the courts declare it unconstitutional.
Those states are Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Indiana, Idaho, Iowa, Kansas, Louisiana, Maine, Michigan, Mississippi, Nebraska, Nevada, North Dakota, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, South Dakota, Texas, Utah, Washington, Wisconsin and Wyoming.
Virginia has its own lawsuit, bringing to 27 the number of states suing Obama over Obamacare.
11 more and you have the 38 needed to ratify an amendment to the Constitution that declares it null and void.
Just pass Amendment 28: “The Health Care and Education Reconciliation Act of 2010 is null and void.”
Those 27 states are expected to have a combined 284 votes in the Electoral College in 2012.
Just saying.
President Obama might be better off just having this sucker declared unconstitutional
Not on the list of states is Tennessee which due to its AG selection process has not joined the lawsuit, but is still moving towards opposition.
So you probably will be able to soon add another 11 electoral votes to that count making it 295. As far as the individual mandate, though not the support for the bill, you could count Oregon in the mix too since they want to opt out of the mandate portion of Obamacare, since they are already a socialist state, so why be repetitive.
