I work with a company that does environmental restoration after a gas pipeline has been installed - installing erosion control blanket, seeding, stream bank restoration, and planting native trees and shrubs. We are based in New York, but most of our work in the past couple of years has been in PA and NJ. The company's revenues (and payrolls) are 25-30% of what they were in 2008.
As the article states, New York has a moratorium on fracking. They have involved the EPA in many studies and hearings, and it won't be resolved any time soon. It's a good example of the Obama administration's slowdown of using domestic energy.
