Interesting vote here, it is being touted as a big Obama victory and in the sense that he got what he wanted I guess it is. But what I find interesting is who voted which way on it. According to the second story, if everyone had voted it would have been 54-44 with Franken of Min.not yet a Senator (one can only hope) and Bunning of KY. not voting, but one would assume he would have voted against the bail out. So in reality the vote probably would have ended up 55-45.
I have no earthly idea why Republicans Kyl and Alexander voted for it, the other 4 are not surprises. But what is most interesting are the Dems who bolted from the ranks, especially Bayh of Indiana. I don't think Obama is going to get quite the support that is expected on all this big spending and stimulus non sense. More...
