Is Antarctica Really Warming Up?

It looks like more and more scientists are rejecting the global warming theory, following a recent study

According to a recent study, it seems that the glacial formation at the Earth’s South Pole is actually warming up at a rather worryingly rate, contradicting many previous researches that have concluded that Antarctica is undergoing a cooling process.

Whether the supporters of the global warming theory are right or their scientific proofs are biased, the scientific world is currently determined to find out. After the new study was published in the scientific journal Nature, the media was filled with mixed reactions from several environment specialists.

In a nutshell, while global warming enthusiasts were keen to quote various studies about climate change everywhere on the planet, Antarctica had remained the last place where no evidence had been found in order to support a warming process in the area.

Therefore, recent studies, mainly promoted by global warming research panels and Al Gore, focused on an isolated region of Antarctica, which they proved that it had been systematically warming in the last few decades.

Still, there were few people realizing that the rest of Antarctica has in fact been cooling since the 1970s, as most data gathered from satellite imaging revealed. Moreover, it seems that sea-ice levels were 30 percent higher than the average during 2008.More...
The reactions to the study were so acid, that some scientists analyzed the gathered data in the study. After looking over the paper, researchers concluded that the scientific method was rather biased, as the research team led by Professor Eric Steig used a computer-based climate evolution simulator, based only on the few data collecting centers in Antarctica and extrapolating that data to the entire continent.

While the data from satellite imagery and research centers in Antarctica showed that the continent has been cooling down, the rest of the information needed was based rather on speculation and even so, the researchers only managed to conclude that Antarctica had been warming by just one degree Fahrenheit during the last 50 years.

The state of affairs is even worse for the so-called “warmists,” as even senior scientist with the UN's Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, Kenneth Trenberth stated that he doubts that the study has any relevance to the scientific world, as the researchers “made data” for several areas where there had been no data previously gathered.

Furthermore, Ross Hayes, the well known NASA scientist and expert in the evolution of Earth’s atmosphere, sent an email to Eric Steig in which he told him that he is disappointed to see that some of these days’ researchers choose to influence the results of a study just for “media coverage.”

Following the harsh reactions to the recent study, many people expect that politicians themselves will make an effort to find out whether the global warming thesis really has proper scientific support.
